Often in the descriptions of handbags, various terms for leather appear, such as: saffiano, souvage, peas and suede. These names contain information about the texture of the skins, they are factory terms, created by fashion designers or simply derived from the type of skin. Below is a short guide about the skins we use to produce our collections.
Saffiano leather, i.e. the characteristic checkered pattern is not a natural leather structure, the pattern is machine embossed under the influence of heat, after pressing the skin is coated with a special wax. It is thanks to him that saffiano leather gains its increased usability - it becomes slightly stiffer, resistant to water and scratches. Products made from it retain their original shape for longer. Palmellato skin is created in the same way, it differs only in the embossing pattern, instead of grille palmellato has a fine grain on the surface resembling the natural structure of the skin. Another type of pattern is souvage, this name describes parallel machine stitching on the skin arranged in the letter V, the intervals between sewing are about 1 - 1.50 cm, the bag with this pattern looks like a quilted one, it is a very effective type of decoration. The greatest possibilities of decoration are foiling leather, due to the fact that printed foil is laid on the skin, which allows you to create thousands of different patterns. The foil also protects the skin against dirt and wipe.

The ruga is leather without any texture, it is immaculately smooth, matte, non-scratching, handbags made of it have a very luxurious look. The last type of leather from our collection, whose texture was created by embossing, is crocodile. This is a very fashionable pattern this season, the crocodile is available in many versions, matte, varnished, the structure can be small or very large, the skin with this texture is used not only as the basic material for sewing bags or shoes, but also as a decorative accessory in the form flaps or bag inserts made of smooth leather, e.g. ruga.
For the production of our bags, we also use leathers with a natural structure such as probably the most popular, classic peas, as well as suede leather. Peas are grain leather with the texture of very fine irregular spots, it is the most commonly used leather in the world for the production of handbags. In contrast, suede is a properly treated reverse part of the skin, it is easily recognizable, because it has a "nap" structure, it is very pleasant to the touch and has an effective appearance, but also requires appropriate maintenance, it should be impregnated often so that it does not get dirty and wipe off too quickly.
Handbags from all of the above leather types can be found in our collection, you can look here.
